That long?

Hello all,
I haven't given up on the blog, college took up most of my time, and once I graduated looking for work then became a priority. I am still looking for work! But will do my best to start updating this blog early in the spring when the weather is nicer.
I wasn't able to get out much this season, life kept me busy. I was able to get a few 100+ mile rides in, but didn't have enough sense to grab my camera so I could get pictures of the sites that I came across. That will change in the spring, I have a smaller, easier to carry camera that will hopefully take some nice pictures. Only time will tell!
Ride safe!

Whites Bridge Hit and Run

I found this on the home page of the local newspaper today, how cowardly is it to run away from an accident? They will get those involved! people have BIG mouths! HA!

I'm glad I was able to get a few pictures of it before the damage was done! So sad! I hope they are able to make the repairs so that they don't look 100 years newer than what is there? Maybe old barn wood and beams? I guess we'll see?

Last ride for the season?

My last ride was on December 4th. I'm hoping for some nice weather in January so I can get out for a bit and play. I guess I'll have to wait and see what January ends up looking like, the weather here has been extremely cold for this time of year (Global warming! RIGHT!)
Later for now!
Too cold to ride!

No time for a long ride

What a nice week and weekend it has been! I unfortunately did not have time to take a good long ride this week. With going to college full time (17 credit hours) I end up with a load of homeowrk sometimes, this weekend is one of them.
I managed to ride from Ionia over to Lyons, up to Grand River, then back to Ionia. While not a long ride it certainly felt good, the stress of life seems to get blown off by the wind as you ride. I will be very sad when it is finally time to put the bike up for the season. So far this year I have ridden 2,220 miles, far less than what I wanted, but enough to remove the stresses of life.
I started this blog hoping to show off some of the sight's I've seen while riding, but college has taken first place and I haven't been able to ride much the last couple of months. By the end of next summer I will be done with college, I hope to be on the road more then.
I have pictures of the local sights here in Ionia County, I will be posting them since it is getting too cold to ride now, I hope that is ok?
I will try to post once a week the sights in and around Ionia that have kept me here now for 43 years, what a nice place to live!
Time to head off for now and get ready for Church,
Remamber, it's now what you ride, it's only THAT you ride!

Sneaking out!

I was able to sneak out for just a few minutes yesterday and ride the bike, not too far, just far enough to satisfy the urge to ride off into who knows where!
No pictures once again, the batteries in the camera are dead and I keep forgetting to charge them, my bad!
Later all!

Wonderfull Weekend!

This was a wonderful weekend! I rode the bike 70 miles on the back roads, I did not however remember my camera, my bad!
I am hoping that there will be more days like Saturday, I want to take the motorcycle a few more times before the snow flies!
My bike is all set to head out on another ride, all I need is another day over 50 degrees. I absolutely LOVE riding my motorcycle if you haven't figured that out yet It is so fun sometimes it almost feels wrong! November 8th and I'm still riding! I can so handle that.
Untill the snow flies!
It's not WHAT you ride, only THAT you ride!

Later!

White’s bridge

White’s bridge is located only 5 or 6 miles from Fallasburg park, and it is worth the ride! It is located on the dirt portion of White’s Bridge Road at the bottom of the hill. It is still used to get traffic across the river, there is an observation deck to view it from the side and steps going underneath it to view how it is constructed.

It most definitely the day to ride! the sun was shining and the breeze was warm and comfortable, if only every day was as nice. I need to remember to keep the camera batteries charged up, all but two of my batteries were dead since I had not charged them in some time.
When we arrived at the covered bridge there was another biker taking pictures already, it was nice to see someone else had the same idea I had.
I hope to ride to Ada sometime soon and get some pictures of the covered bridge there.Portland will be a destination also, there is an old silo painted up to look like an old time potato chip can, so many pictured to take.
Time to head off for now, time to look for more places to go and take pictures!
Later all!
